The museum continues to grow in content and in providing historical information regarding the Reedham Foundation.

Following a very generous Gift Aid Donation to the Reedham Trust, a display cabinet has been purchased for the Museum. Exhibits have been suitably labelled and displayed to their best advantage in the cabinet.

Exhibits recently received at the museum include a copy of “Rolls Plumbe; an authentic memoir of a child, in a series of letters to a child” written by Andrew Reed D.D. and published in about 1832. In addition a Drinking Mug was discovered in a garden on the Reedham Estate in the Summer. Items regarding our Founder and our School are found in many and varied places. The Reedham Old Scholars Association is a good source of information.

Interest in the Museum is not restricted to the Old Scholars.  Contact has been made with the local Residents Associations on the Reedham Estate and interest has been shown for our historical record.  We also share our background with fellow “foundationers” The Royal Wanstead and an inter exchange of ideas and information between us continues.

The museum started as a “collection of memorabilia” in respect of Old Scholars of Reedham.  This has now moved forward to becoming a collection of items recording the life and history of Reedham from early days up until its closure in 1979 and then continuing with the life of the Reedham Trust.  We are grateful to all contributors and welcome interest from all sources.

The County Archivist from the Surrey History Centre visited the Museum in 2001. A copy of the Reedham Video and the Home on the Hill have been sent to them along with any duplicate items that can be spared.
