FUTURE OF ROSA – THE VOTES ARE IN

RESULTS OF THE VOTING ON THE FUTURE RUNNING OF ROSA

The Proposal put forward in November 2014 to all ‘Paid Up’ Members of ROSA asked for their vote on the following question: “I agree to the proposed amendments to ROSA Constitution”; the outcome of which was further qualified by explaining:

• Voting YES will allow ROSA to continue as a Friendly Society under a much simplified structure as defined in the proposed revised Constitution (enclosed)

• Voting NO will invoke Section 13 of the current Constitution (enclosed). This would mean winding up of ROSA and remaining monies disposed of as detailed in Constitution. This would also mean the cessation of formal reunions, activities and the website.

We are pleased to announce that almost every Member who returned their voting slip voted “ YES ”.

The result of the voting is as follows:  Turnout was just over 42%, Voting Slips Returned = 109, those in favour = 108, those against = 1.  The revised Constitution has thereby duly been adopted.

MEET THE NEW TEAM

Following the overwhelming acceptance by ROSA’s Paid Up Members to now adopt the revised ROSA Constitution which now allows for the simplification and for the running of ROSA we are very pleased to announce that Tali Atvars, Hazel Cox (nee Lestourgeon) and George Kanetti have volunteered to comprise the core of the new ROSA organising  team.

Derrick Smith has also kindly offered to continue in the role of our Honorary Historian, which we all much appreciated.

The new team wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year and we look forward to hearing from and meeting many of you soon.
