I am very sad to hear about Michael Champness and the awful experience it was for him at Reedham. I remember my Mother and I living in their house for a while. Michael was quite young. My sister, newly married, lived upstairs from them. I was sent to Reedham around '56 or '57. I remember being very happy to see him there when I passed him lined up in the hall but really didn't get to see much, if anything of him after that. I left in '61 (at the age of 15) and moved straight away to Vancouver Canada (as a nanny for a Dr's family) and have remained here ever since. I have often thought of Michael over the years and wondered how he made out. It breaks my heart to think that he was mistreated. I, on the other hand ended up being very grateful for the structure and security Reedham provided for me. My life before it was pretty bleak. I do hope Michael eventually found happiness and a family that loves him dearly. I know at least he has a very good friend. Sincerely, Lyn MacKay (nee Kidd)

Of course you want to hide the old mail as so many found Reedham  a place of horrid terror.
I wrote about some horrible things that happened to me, when it was posted it opened an averlanche of more with the same bad experiences as me.
The place was a hell on earth, but freezing cold all the time, I wonder what a full investigation would reveal.
Now the time has gone and it is good to leave well alone, but hundreds of children suffered at Reedham which has scared us for life!!

Hi there I'm writing on behalf of my friend michael champness who was a student between 1959 /1964 or should I say a student who was preyed on by those who were dorm masters in livingstone and wilburforce dorms, I wonder how many other past pupils have the same thoughts ,anyone out there from same era want to get on contact email me and I will pass on your messages PS surprising so few members for a school with a long history ,I hope this is not a vested site
